Rule 12 — Attitude Towards Religion
G.R. Taylor's Rules of Matrism/Patrism Explained

Patrists seek direction
The nature of the dutiful is to obey, so they will have a religion that sets out clear commands and punishes disobedience. Inevitably such a God will be authoritarian and vengeful, and therefore fatherly and masculine.

Matrists seek license
Whereas the self-indulgent resent restraint so they seek license from their religion to enjoy their appetites. And inevitably such a God will be nurturing and forgiving, and therefore motherly and feminine.
