It is not, of course, inevitable for the adherents of one religion to persecute the adherents of others. Mohammedans allowed room for Jews and Christians in heaven, and many Eastern religions are completely tolerant, holding that the deity must be worshipped by different peoples in the form which is appropriate to the state of their development.
