Note from Chapter 3 of The Great Trek by Oliver Ransford

For those who would like to follow the march today it is believed that the Tregardt and Van Rensburg parties joined up at Beersheba (Sevenfontein), passed through present-day Dewetsdorp, and a little to the east of Thaba Nchu. From there they proceeded north-east with the threatening mass of the Drakensberg on the right hand, and near to the sites of modern Standerton and Middelburg. (see map)
