A specialist in classical literature, Rex Warner has taught in England, Egypt and Greece. Some of his most valuable works have been translations from Greek literature—Aeschylus's Prometheus Bound, Euripides' Hippolytus and Helen, Xenophon's Anabaeis, and Ovid's Meta-morphoses. He has also written novels and a biography of Julius Caesar, The Young Caesar, which was hailed as "brilliant" by the critics.
