Four plays
Note by A Milnes to As A Playwright a chapter of The Life Of Dryden

Not four, but three; and that engagement was not fulfilled. See the reprint in Malone, vol. i, p. 73, of a complaint made by the company of the king's house, that he has broken his contract; and that, after their forgiving him that offence, and helping him at his own request with a third night, he has yet given to the Duke's company his last play of Oedipus. This complaint is dated in 1678.
