Note by A Milnes to As A Playwright to The Life Of Dryden

Among them the following from Pepys' Diary:

'Took coach and to court and there saw the " Wild Gallant" performed by the King's house, but it was ill acted, and the play so poor a thing as ever I saw in my life, almost, and so little answering the names that from the beginning to the end I could not, nor can at this time, tell certainly which was the "wild Gallant".' (1662-3)
