Confirm
From 'Vocabulary' part of The ABC Of Plain Words by Sir E Gowers (1951)

The natural meaning of to confirm is to support or corroborate: "Will you please confirm your secretary's telephone message." By extension it is sometimes wrongly used as if it meant say or tell me: "Will you please confirm whether you have received my cheque." It is commoner in commercialese than in officialese e.g. "Please confirm voltage and whether AC or DC" in which it apparently means merely "let me know".
