Ammianus speaks of this Roman king (l. xiv. c. 1, and Valesius ad loc.). The Valesian fragment styles him King of kings, and the Paschal Chronicle (p. 286 [p. 228, ed. Ven.; vol. i. p. 532; ed. Bonn]), by employing the word , acquires the weight of Latin evidence.
