A GOLD Coast man, 54, was brutally bashed after telling off a young skateboarder at Palm Beach at the weekend.
Police said the man had words with the skateboarder, aged about 12, late on Sunday afternoon.
The man continued walking to the beach when he was confronted by the skateboarder and two men.
"He was punched and kicked and fell to the ground," Burleigh Heads Detective Senior Sergeant Terry Winters said. "The offenders then started to drag him towards the water. They only stopped when the man's companion intervened."
The man suffered injuries including a broken nose, fractured eye socket, suspected eye damage and facial cuts. He was treated at the Tweed Heads District Hospital and later released.
"It was a pretty nasty attack and he's fairly knocked around," Senior Sergeant Winters said, adding that "the young skateboarder did not take part in the attack."[the brat instigated the attack!]
The offenders were both aged about 30. One was about 175cm tall, of average build, with a tanned complexion. He was wearing shorts.
The other man was about 182cm tall, with a tanned complexion and solid build. Senior Sergeant Winters urged anyone with information to contact Burleigh Heads CIB on 5535 1257 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
