Impact Of Decline On The Church
From 'Impact of Decline' part of 'A Study Of Our Decline' by P Atkinson (03-Jul-16)

The role of the church is to uphold the society's traditional beliefs about right and wrong, for this is the foundation of the shared understanding that is society. However, since the adoption of democracy, the church, like the government, has stopped being the master of its worshippers but has become their servant. In order to keep the interest of the shrinking minority of unselfish citizens, the judging of right from wrong is now no longer dictated by traditional church teachings, but by the popular wishes of church congregations. Hence, in keeping with the wishes of its followers the church condones some insanity, such as female priests, while it fails to condemn other insanity, such as child worship, and thereby aids the general discarding of sanity.
